Desvelando ideologías raciolingüísticas hacia los hispanohablantes en las redes sociales

Las ideologías raciolingüísticas están presentes en casi todos los aspectos de las sociedades contemporáneas modificando las dinámicas de poder entre la cultura y sociedad dominante y aquella dominada (Rosa, 2016; Rosa y Flores, 2017). En muchos casos, estas ideologías están presentes en lugares a los cuales una gran parte de la población tiene acceso, como son las redes sociales (Dovchin, 2019) y modifican la percepción que se tiene sobre una lengua y su grupo de hablantes a través de diferentes estereotipos lingüísticos, culturales y étnicos, como es el caso de la población hispanohablante en los Estados Unidos (Christiansen, 2024). Con el objetivo de examinar cómo estas ideologías presentes en redes sociales influyen en la percepción que se tiene sobre esta comunidad de hablantes, este trabajo estudia las respuestas de 63 participantes a un cuestionario, a través del cual se observa que hay una fuerte relación entre los aspectos étnico-raciales y la lengua de las personas retratadas en las redes sociales. Quienes participan son conscientes de la influencia de estas plataformas y citan numerosos ejemplos de hablantes o grupos de hablantes que están mejor o peor representados.
