Elections 2018 - cynical discourse as strategy to build a myth in politics

Abstract

Between the displeasure and the dread of an electoral victory coming from a campaign traced by the dissemination of Fake News, we put to reflect on the operation of the cynical discourse in the construction of the political figure of Jair Bolsonaro, within an order of discourse in which inscribe certain formulations hoisted to a place of hegemonic truth, legitimized by the (discursive) urgency of a "new politics". This cynical discourse, although it faced a counter-discourse of strong and wide circulation, led a specific type of political representative to the post of Head of State because it gave to the elections a distinctive trait of discursive practice of production of truth. Deleting/denying history and monopolizing a power that engenders dissimulated knowledge, cynical discourse forges an effect of unusual memory and builds an insular truth, disengaged from history, but asserting on its behalf, engendering a totalitarian, without space to other sayings, because it is plotted under the paradigm of a pedagogical discourse.
