Abstract

The purpose of this article is to analyze some strategies that propitiated the victory of a right-wing candidate in the Brazilian presidential elections of 2018. What would have been feeding the left hate throughout the years? For what reasons does the bolsonist discourse attract and gain part of the electorate? We have hypothesized that three factors contributed to this result: there is a history of disqualification of the left, the innovative character of the forms of circulation of political discourse and the emergence of themes about moralism and customs. In order to answer these questions, we rely on an archegenealogy of political discourse, which will offer us tools to analyze the political behavior of a society crossed by certain discursive practices.
