In the process of construction of postmodern societies, public discourse constitutes an influential mechanism for the legitimation and de-legitimization of power. The way power materializes entails the need to examine public discourse (TV, radio, etc.) as mediums of ideological distribution. This study aimed to analyze the gender patterns underlying the discourse of the broadcasters of a youth radio station in Colombia. The analytical approach articulated theoretical and methodological frameworks of Conversation Analysis (CA) and Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA). Results indicate that an andocentric discourse predominates in the show which crystallizes in the way men exercise control upon the interactional situation, access and approaches to themes.
