The goal of this dissertation is to highlight the strategies of manipulation and persuasion in political discourse, within the frame of Francoist ideology. Specifically, we focus on the colonial Western Sahara case study (from 1950 to 1975) moving from 14 articles published on two ideologically committed newspapers: ABC y La Vanguardia (Española). Our considerations are derived from Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA), pragmatic linguistic (enunciation theory, argumentation theory and modality) and computerized corpus analysis models.
