The construction of identity through the use of lexical and semantic networks in the presidential acceptance speech in Mexico. Towards a methodological proposal

Abstract

In this article we propose some strategies that are useful to study identity construction in presidential speeches through the lexical and semantics networks. Under the premise that presidential speeches can be understood as communicative, relational and identity space, offer, first a theoretical analysis. It shows the way in which the phenomena of identity, political discourse and lexical semantic networks relate. After that show a methodology of analysis that can be used to locate, through the study of lexical semantic networks and ideational structures the identitary phenomena. Also, we present some of the results that the speech of presidential inauguration manifest, with regard to the phenomenon we are interested, in their behavior over a long period. The aim is to contribute through reflections and discussions on a methodology for the analysis of identity phenomenon and share some features that have been located in a specific corpus.
