The mutation of the human: adaptation and permanence after the end of the world in three stories by Liliana Colanzi

Abstract

From three stories by bolivian Liliana Colanzi, the author’s vision regarding the role of humans and their relationship with other beings that inhabit the planet is reviewed. Colanzi’s stories show how a lack of empathy and recognition of the Other has contributed to the devastation of natural resources and the extinction of many species. In dialog with the philosopher Jean-Luc Nancy and his idea of meaning of the world, the article seeks to underline these paths in Colanzi’s stories, to highlight the need for change and adaptation suggested by the author’s work as a measure for the survival of human beings in an end-of-the-world context.
