Aims and Scope
Pangeas: Revista interdisciplinar de Ecocrítica is a digital journal whose main purpose is to contribute to the advance of scientific knowledge in ecocriticism from an interdisciplinary approach. The journal brings together the various sciences involved in the study of literature and culture, including social science disciplines, in order to create rigorous academic works on the representation of nature and natural space in their multiple imbrications with human activity from a symbolic to a political, economic or legal approach. The editorial board of the journal considers that, as part of their interdisciplinary approach, the epistemic crisis caused in the last decades by the exhaustion of the dualism “nature/culture” requires the involvement of all scientific disciplines concerned with the natural world. Thereby, the journal proposes to analyse and create new cooperation frameworks between natural sciences, social sciences and humanities in order to support new models and provide solutions to the contemporary conflicts concerning the natural world. Even though the journal aims to become a point of reference in Spain, Portugal and Latin America, it is also open to ecocritical works addressing issues from other regions of the world.
The journal is aimed at researchers and practitioners in the field of humanities and social sciences who use an interdisciplinary approach in the study of subjects of ecocritical interest.
